Frequently Asked Questions

Who should attend IGNITE?

IGNITE is designed for bookkeeping professionals at every stage of their career.

Bookkeeping Technicians
If you work directly in the books, IGNITE offers a full track — In the Books — focused on clean files, strong judgment, payroll, writeups, and managing real-world complexities like ecommerce and cloud tools. Build confidence, strengthen skills, and connect with peers who do the same work you do.

Sole Practitioners
If you do the work and make the decisions, IGNITE lets you move between tracks to sharpen technical skills, refine pricing and systems, and explore client relationships and advisory work — all in one place.

Firm Owners & Leaders
If you’re responsible for growth, teams, or long-term direction, the Strategy Suite and People First tracks focus on pricing, scaling decisions, hiring, retention, leadership, and building a sustainable, profitable firm without burnout.

CPAs
Many CPAs attend IGNITE to deepen collaboration with bookkeepers, better understand workflows and standards, and connect with professionals across the accounting ecosystem.

In short:
Whether you work in the books, run a bookkeeping business, or collaborate with bookkeeping professionals, IGNITE has sessions designed for you.

IGNITE 2026 Specific Questions

Will IGNITE 2026 be a French or English language event?

IGNITE 2026 will be conducted in English. That said, we are thrilled to be hosting in the beautiful city of Montreal, and we embrace the rich bilingual culture that makes this city so unique. While the event programming and sessions will be in English, we encourage attendees to immerse themselves in the local French culture and hospitality during their time in the city — bon voyage!

IGNITE will be an in–person–only event this year. CPB Canada has intentionally chosen to focus on creating meaningful connections, conversations, and engagement in-person as the core experience of the IGNITE conference. A decline in live virtual attendance in recent years and growth in the in-person experience contributed to this decision.

For members who prefer virtual connection year-round, our online community space, the Community Hub, is included with membership.

For those unable to attend in person, an IGNITE OnDemand package with session recordings will be available after the conference. Pricing and details will be announced soon.

CPB Canada has not scheduled a walking tour specifically for delegates this year. However, we are located downtown Montreal, close to many various tour options!

If you are arriving early or staying late, we found this great walking tour of Old Montreal that runs every morning and afternoon, for only $35.00! Check out Guidatour.

Getting There & Getting Around

How should I travel to IGNITE?

Whether you're coming by planes, trains, or automobiles, we've got you covered!

Flying in? We've partnered with Air Canada, WestJet, and Porter for exclusive flight discountsView travel discounts. Please note that Montreal will be buzzing with excitement during the 2026 UCI Road World Championships, so expect a busy airport and plan accordingly!

Taking the train? VIA Rail discounts are also available, and the best part — the train station is right across the street from the venue. It doesn't get easier than that!

Driving or taking a cab?  If you're driving, parking is available at Hotel Bonaventure for $28/day. View parking details.

The UCI 2026 Road World Championships will take place on the same dates as IGNITE, so Montreal will be a busy and exciting city during that time. The race courses will not affect the area surrounding the Bonaventure Hotel or the conference venue. However, some impact is expected around airport travel and the Mount Royal area, where most of the races will be held. We recommend allowing extra travel time and planning accordingly.

Our gala theme this year is Off the Books!

Behind an unmarked door, past the velvet rope, something is happening that won't show up in any report. Warm lights. Bold pours. Brilliant company. You didn't hear it from us, but at the gala, we're going, Off the Books.

We invite you to leave the spreadsheets at home and channel your inner Gatsby. Think pearl strands, feathers, fringe, suspenders and pocket squares. After all, if we’re going, Off the Books, we might as well look good doing it.

Yes! IGNITE 2026 will have a conference app powered by EventMobi, available closer to the event. Use it to plan your schedule, connect with fellow attendees, participate in gamification challenges, and much more. Stay tuned for details on how to download and access it!

Practical Information

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The conference venue at the Bonaventure Hotel is accessible. Elevators are available from the ground floor to the hotel and the conference level, located one level below the hotel lobby. Accessible guest rooms are available at the hotel—please be sure to request an accessible room when booking your accommodation.

All meals will have nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

If you have a severe allergy, please indicate it on your registration form so the venue can be notified in advance. Your meals will then be prepared and delivered separately. Please note we cannot accommodate food preference requests.

Business casual is recommended, but comfort is key — wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be on your feet throughout the day. We also suggest bringing a sweater or a light jacket, as meeting rooms and late-summer evenings can be cool.

Gala Attire (optional):  Semi-formal 1920s speakeasy attire — think pearl strands, feathers, fringe, suspenders and pocket squares.
